Two types of reservoirs are present: atmospheric and pressurised.

The schematic of a pressurised reservoir is shown in the following figure:

The reservoir pressure (P_r) acts on the area (A₁ + A₂ - A₃), while the system supply pressure (Ps) acts on the areas (A₂ - A₃).
